Map for the session: ES is at 7756.5 (15-minute delayed feed), inside the London range (7745-7769.75) and just above yesterday’s low at 7750.25. Today’s range so far runs 7732.25-7773.75, with the Asia range (7740-7767) sitting inside it. Yesterday’s high at 7819.5 is also the current week’s high, the upside reference if buyers take back the London high.
Fundamentals
- The Fed held rates on Wednesday, with two officials dissenting in favour of a hike. December hike odds are around 85% on CME FedWatch, and the 10-year yield is above 5%.
- Data this morning ran hot: advance Q3 GDP at 3.4% annualised against about 3.2% expected, and initial jobless claims at 194K, below forecasts. Strong growth keeps the hike case alive.
- Big tech split overnight. Alphabet fell sharply on a revenue and search miss and negative free cash flow; Microsoft rose on an earnings beat and 48% Azure growth. The Alphabet drop weighs on the Nasdaq more than on the S&P.
- Amazon reports after the close (call at 17:00 New York). PCE inflation is due tomorrow.
Strategies on Watch Today
These are rule-based strategies we are paper-trading forward on our research platform. Results are simulated; no real orders are placed.
Long-term portfolio
- ES Futures Breakout, 15-minute (Micro E-mini S&P, MES). Window 14:00-16:00 Lisbon. It trades with the Supertrend, waiting for a 15-minute fair value gap whose entry edge sits in the 0.62-0.79 retracement of its leg, with a limit at the gap edge, a stop beyond the leg start and a 2:1 target. The London range (7745-7769.75) frames the leg it may work from.
- Samurai ORB Structure, Scalper 1.1 (Micro Nasdaq, MNQ). The opening range forms 13:30-13:45 Lisbon. It waits for the first 15-minute close outside that range in the direction of the break of structure, with momentum, signals until 15:30 Lisbon. Stop at the middle of the 9:30 New York candle’s body, fixed-points target, flat by the 20:00 close.
- IBS US100 (Micro Nasdaq, MNQ). Checks at 15:55 New York: buys if the close sits in the bottom 10% of the day’s range, exits at a later check once it is above the midpoint. Holds overnight.
- Turnaround Tuesday US100 (Micro Nasdaq, MNQ). Its entry window is Sunday 18:05 to Monday 16:10 New York, with the exit from Tuesday 16:10. Nothing new to arm on a Thursday.
- Range Breakout USDJPY (USD/JPY spot). At 23:00 New York it places stop orders at the high and low of the last three hours; the first fill cancels the other, and everything is out by 11:00 New York.
- Donchian Channel Scalper (Micro Gold, MGC). Runs 24 hours on 1-minute closes, waiting for a break of the 175-hour Donchian channel, re-arming each side only after a close back through the midline.
Prop firm portfolio – 45-day basket
- Samurai ORB Structure, Intraday 4.1 (Micro Nasdaq, MNQ). Same 13:30-13:45 Lisbon opening range and 15:30 signal cutoff, with the break-of-structure and momentum filters. Stop at the far side of the range, 1:1 target, flat by the 20:00 close.
- 4H FU Retest US500 (Micro E-mini S&P, MES). Needs the 6:00-10:00 New York range to sweep one side of the 2:00-6:00 range and the 9:45 candle to close beyond the other side. If set up, it looks for a 15-minute retest into the near half of the 6-10 range between 10:00 and 14:00 New York. The overnight London range (7745-7769.75) sits inside that early window.
- Go Long US100 (Micro Nasdaq, MNQ). Between 11:05 and 15:30 New York, it buys the first new high of the broker day and sells at 15:30.
- IBS US100 (Micro Nasdaq, MNQ). Same 15:55 New York check as above.
- Donchian Channel Scalper (Micro Gold, MGC). Same 175-hour channel rules as above, running around the clock.
Prop firm portfolio – aggressive
- Samurai ORB Intraday 4.1, no filters (Micro Nasdaq, MNQ). Opening range 13:30-13:45 Lisbon; takes the first 15-minute close outside it, signals until 15:30 Lisbon. Stop at the far side of the range, 1:1 target, flat by the 20:00 close.

Bias
Neutral to slightly bearish. ES is holding inside the London range, but hot growth data, high hike odds, a 10-year above 5% and the Alphabet miss lean against buyers. The decision level is yesterday’s low at 7750.25, with the London low at 7745 just under it. Losing 7745 points to the Asia low at 7740 and today’s low at 7732.25. A reclaim of the London high at 7769.75 opens today’s high at 7773.75 and then yesterday’s high at 7819.5. Amazon after the bell is the late-session wildcard.
