Map for the session: ES is at 7672.75 (15-minute delayed feed), well below yesterday’s low at 7709.5 and pressing the bottom of the London range (7670.5-7693). Today’s low at 7664 sits just under the Asia low at 7665.25, so sellers already tested that shelf once. Below it, the weekly lows stack up at 7651.75 (this week) and 7648.5 (last week).
Fundamentals
- The Q3 Employment Cost Index came out at 08:30 New York, before the cash open. A firm wage print would add to the hike case after Wednesday’s Fed hold, where two officials dissented in favour of a hike.
- Fed speakers: Daly at 16:00 Lisbon and Musalem at 16:30 Lisbon, both inside the morning New York session. Any hawkish tone matters with December hike odds high on CME FedWatch.
- Big tech remains the swing factor. Alphabet sold off on Wednesday’s miss, and Amazon reported after yesterday’s close; its reaction drives the Nasdaq and, to a lesser degree, the S&P.
- Month-end Friday: expect rebalancing flows into the close at 20:00 Lisbon.
Strategies on Watch Today
These are rule-based strategies we are paper-trading forward on our research platform. Results are simulated; no real orders are placed.
Long-term portfolio
- ES Futures Breakout, 15-minute (Micro E-mini S&P, MES). Window 14:00-16:00 Lisbon. It trades with the Supertrend, waiting for a 15-minute fair value gap whose entry edge sits in the 0.62-0.79 retracement of its leg, with a limit at the gap edge, a stop beyond the leg start and a 2:1 target. The London range (7670.5-7693) frames where any leg may start.
- Samurai ORB Structure, Scalper 1.1 (Micro Nasdaq, MNQ). The opening range forms 13:30-13:45 Lisbon. It waits for the first 15-minute close outside that range in the direction of the break of structure, with momentum, signals until 15:30 Lisbon. Stop at the middle of the 9:30 New York candle’s body, fixed-points target, flat by the 20:00 close.
- IBS US100 (Micro Nasdaq, MNQ). Checks at 15:55 New York: buys if the close sits in the bottom 10% of the day’s range, exits at a later check once it is above the midpoint. Holds overnight.
- Turnaround Tuesday US100 (Micro Nasdaq, MNQ). Its entry window is Sunday 18:05 to Monday 16:10 New York, with the exit from Tuesday 16:10. Nothing to arm on a Friday.
- Range Breakout USDJPY (USD/JPY spot). At 23:00 New York it places stop orders at the high and low of the last three hours; the first fill cancels the other, and everything is out by 11:00 New York.
- Donchian Channel Scalper (Micro Gold, MGC). Runs 24 hours on 1-minute closes, waiting for a break of the 175-hour Donchian channel, re-arming each side only after a close back through the midline.
Prop firm portfolio – 45-day basket
- Samurai ORB Structure, Intraday 4.1 (Micro Nasdaq, MNQ). Same 13:30-13:45 Lisbon opening range and 15:30 Lisbon signal cutoff, with the break-of-structure and momentum filters. Stop at the far side of the range, 1:1 target, flat by the 20:00 close.
- 4H FU Retest US500 (Micro E-mini S&P, MES). Needs the 6:00-10:00 New York range to sweep one side of the 2:00-6:00 range and the 9:45 candle to close beyond the other side. If set up, it looks for a 15-minute retest into the near half of the 6-10 range between 10:00 and 14:00 New York. The London range (7670.5-7693) overlaps that early window.
- Go Long US100 (Micro Nasdaq, MNQ). Between 11:05 and 15:30 New York, it buys the first new high of the broker day and sells at 15:30.
- IBS US100 (Micro Nasdaq, MNQ). Same 15:55 New York check as above.
- Donchian Channel Scalper (Micro Gold, MGC). Same 175-hour channel rules as above, running around the clock.
Prop firm portfolio – aggressive
- Samurai ORB Intraday 4.1, no filters (Micro Nasdaq, MNQ). Opening range 13:30-13:45 Lisbon; takes the first 15-minute close outside it, signals until 15:30 Lisbon. Stop at the far side of the range, 1:1 target, flat by the 20:00 close.

Bias
Bearish while below 7693. ES has lost yesterday’s range entirely and is sitting on the London low, with hike risk and wage data in the air. The decision level is the London low at 7670.5, with today’s low at 7664 just under it. Losing 7664 opens the weekly lows at 7651.75 and 7648.5. A reclaim of the London high at 7693 neutralises the lean and points back to the Asia high at 7709 and yesterday’s low at 7709.5. Educational analysis, not financial advice.
